Built by Ari 'T Hart and designed by Stu Apte, these reels had a scheduled production of 250 sets, which was cut down to only 125 produced, making them a rarity when found as a complete pair. From the advertising flyer that was mailed out comes the best description for the reels, with "Stu Apte, along with master reel designer Ari 'T Hart, has designed and produced a Limited Edition pair of saltwater fly reels; a Bonefish-Permit model and a Tarpon-Sailfish model. The "Limited Edition" fly reels have the following features; one-piece full frame and one-piece spool that are machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, highly polished and hard anodized with an elegant looking special black and gold finish making them extremely strong and corrosion resistant. The large drag surfaces are comprised of cork and Teflon to ensure the same ultra-smooth drag tension from start-up through the longest run of a giant Tarpon, Marlin or Tuna. Stu has caught numerous Yellowfin Tuna, Tarpon and the fastest swimming gamefish of all, the Wahoo, on this reel". An investment grade set of reels.

Only 125 sets of these were ever made, although 250 were planned.
This reel I sell only toghter with the Stu-Apte-Tarpon ID R018.
